Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CookingBuddy.AI (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CookingBuddy.AI provides an AI-powered voice cooking assistant that guides users through recipes in real time. The Service includes recipe parsing, voice interaction, optional voice cloning, and session tracking features. We offer both free and paid subscription tiers.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid features require a subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected). Payment is processed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. Voice Cloning

The voice cloning feature allows you to create a personalized voice model from audio recordings you submit. By submitting recordings, you represent that you have the right to use the voice in those recordings (i.e., it is your own voice or you have explicit permission). You may delete your cloned voice model at any time from Settings. We do not use your voice recordings to train general AI models.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of recipes and content you create or upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

When you publish a recipe, it becomes publicly accessible via a shareable link. You may unpublish recipes from your account at any time.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Submit voice recordings of other people without their consent
  • Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service
  • Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. AI-GENERATED COOKING GUIDANCE MAY CONTAIN ERRORS — ALWAYS USE YOUR OWN JUDGMENT REGARDING FOOD SAFETY AND PREPARATION.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COOKINGBUDDY.AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time from Settings.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco, California.
